Adam HENEIN (1929-2020) Man with Fish, Gourna, 1966 Bronze proof. Signed and dated in Arabic (on the terrace, on the back). 81 x 35 x 16.5 cm The work is reproduced on the official website of the Adam Henein Foundation, under the number A46. There is a photograph from 2014 where the sculptor poses next to this sculpture. An Egyptian sculptor born into a family of goldsmiths, legend has it that Adam Henein modeled a figure of Ramses II in clay at the age of 8. After graduating in sculpture from the Cairo School of Fine Arts in 1953, Henein continued his artistic training in Munich and then Paris, where he lived until 1996. Upon his return to Egypt, he received numerous awards, including the State Medal and the State Merit Award. Internationally recognized, his work is exhibited in the most important institutions in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. In 2014, the Adam Henein Foundation was established in Cairo, housing the museum dedicated to the artist's works.
