Born to Swiss parents in 1881 in Warsaw, Poland, Céline Lepage grew up on the shores of the Black Sea. After living in Switzerland and Paris, she followed her husband, an officer in the French army, to Tunisia. She regularly exhibited her orientalist works at the Salon d'Automne and in 1922 at the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille.
