Albert PATRISSE (1892-1964) Portrait of a man Bronze with brown patina shaded with green. Signed Albert Patrisse on the left shoulder. Bears a BRONZE stamp behind the left shoulder and the founder's mark F. BARBEDIENNE FONDEUR behind the right shoulder. H. 43 cm, standing on a cherry red marble base H. 12 cm Albert Patrisse trained with Elise Raset in Valenciennes before continuing his training with Félix Desruelles and then with Jules Coutan at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The sculptor's work is particularly concerned with commemorating and paying tribute to personalities from the north of France through monuments and busts.
