Alexandre CLERGET (1856-1931) Young woman in Renaissance costume Bronze with golden patina and traces of polychromy. Signed a. Clerget on the bottom of the dress. Bears the mark of the founder SIOT PARIS. H. 39 cm Alexandre Clerget, a pupil of Falguière, exhibited at the Salon from 1889 to 1924 mainly statuettes of female subjects in the Art Nouveau style. The artist entrusted the Siot-Decauville foundry, known for the care taken with its patinas, with the edition of several models in gilded bronze.
