A 925‰ first-rate silver jug, of truncated cone shape standing on a foot with pearl decoration, the shaft decorated with large garlands and knotted ribbons, added spout. Ivory*** side handle. Lid mounted on hinges, decorated with a chiselled foliage grip. Numerated. French work, late 19th - early 20th century. H. 22,50 cm Gross weight 675 g A certificate of expertise by Mr. FLANDRIN Paul-Louis, expert with the Company of expertise in Antiquities, will be given to the purchaser. This certificate establishes that this work of art was made from a fragment of Elephantide spp (I/A) ivory, a so-called pre-Convention specimen dating from before March 3, 1947, and in view of its age prior to July 1, 1975, its commercial use in the EU is permitted as well as on French national territory in accordance with the ministerial decree of May 4, 2017, relating to the prohibition of trade in elephant ivory and rhinoceros horn. However, a CITES re-export application will be required for any buyer wishing to export it outside the EU after the sale. In accordance with the legislation, the items we offer for sale comply with these criteria and have all been the subject of a prior declaration to the competent administration (CITES), including an expert report.
