Jean DIFFRE (1864-1921) Poster project for a bullfight Toros Paris, July 14, circa 1890 Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. 73 x 45 cm This is a poster project for a bullfight organised in Paris with the bullfighters Mazzantini and Fuentes on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1889. The greatest Spanish matadors came to toréer, disembarking at the Batignolles train station with fifty bulls, twenty horses and two hundred people. The shows were held at the Arènes de Paris, rue Pergolèse, built for the occasion and now destroyed.
