PARIS, ESCALIER DE CRISTAL, late 19th century circa 1870-1880 SERVICE in fine Rousseau earthenware in the Japanese style according to Hokusai, comprising twenty-one dinner plates, twelve soup plates, eighteen dessert plates, two covered round soup tureens, two oval dishes, one round dish and three pedestal displays with polychrome decoration full of water birds, roosters, chicks, turtles, rabbits, mice, signs, duck, mushrooms, insects and reed or carnation vegetation. Taking of onion and radish shaped lids. Blue combed on the edges. Marked on the reverse in cursive lettering Escalier de cristal Paris. One yellowed oval dish, two yellowed foot displays, one yellowed round dish and one yellowed dinner plate. Seven yellowed dessert plates, one with cracks. One dinner plate with cracks.
