Gilded bronze STATUS depicting the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the spiritual manifestation of Amitayus, represented with four heads wearing the five-pointed crown around a central ushnisha. He is seated in padmasana on a lotiform pedestal, his hands joined in dhyana mudra (the lustral water vase is missing). The deity is richly adorned in the Indian fashion, long locks of hair fall on his shoulders. Sealed base. Lack of gilding. Sino-Tibetan work, 20th century. H. 17.3 cm
