Hubert YENCESSE (1900-1987) Couple Plaster. H. 16 cm Born into an artistic milieu and a student at the Dijon School of Fine Arts from 1919, Hubert Yencesse met François Pompon (1855-1933) and became his pupil. He won the Blumenthal Prize in 1934 and then moved to Paris where he began a collaboration with Aristide Maillol until 1936. He received numerous public commissions throughout his career and also taught at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
