Mrs. Ursula Janninck, wife of a Swiss banker, posed many times for Charles Despiau. Her bust was commissioned by her husband. Several photographs of Despiau in his studio show the faithful resemblance of the bust to the model. Despiau spent a long time on the treatment of the décolleté. The plaster preserved at the Musée National d'Art Moderne shows a slight variation, an essay that was not retained for the final bronze version.
For this model, there is a print melted for Mrs Jannink during the war (around 1942-1943) by Bisceglia, and Claude Valsuani melts posthumously from 1948.
