BIBLIOGRAPHIE :

- Hubert-Fillay, " Le statuaire A.-J. Halou ", Le Jardin de la France, n°14, April 1921.

Halou successfully created numerous female statuettes, often considered the best of his work, such as La Baigneuse au buisson, kept at La Piscine - Musée d'Art et d'Industrie de Roubaix; La Femme agenouillée at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon; or Le lever, at the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris. Halou, who was Rodin's practitioner between 1903 and 1911, was probably marked by the master's interpretation of the Eve, more particularly the "rock" version.
Ève au pommier is mentioned in the catalogue of the Salon d'Automne of 1920 : " n°1039 : Ève au pommier (bronze statuette of a single jet), first proof 1/10 numbered ".
