Covered sugar bowl in silver 84 zolotniki (875‰), oval shaped, resting on four feet in rocaille style (fade out). The body is adorned with a hinged lid with a large cut-out grip, the whole chiselled with a decoration of drapes, bouquets and eagles. This characteristic decoration is representative of Russian art during the reign of Catherine II, it can be found on wine glasses, salt shakers, cups or sugar bowls. Moscow 1781, hallmark of the Alderman Fedor PETROV (1759-1784), goldsmith's and master essayist's hallmarks listed but not identified. Dimensions 9 x 10.5 x 13 cm Weight 256 g
