In the catalogue of the exhibition devoted to the collection of the Musée d'Algiers, published in 2003, Azzedine Antri notes about the Young Moorish woman in sarouel: it is "one of the most important works by the artist produced during his stay in Algeria. Marcel Damboise donated print no. 1, cast by Valsuani, to the Algiers Museum of Fine Arts in 1934 (Inv. IG1626).
