NEVERS, late 18th century, circa 1791 REVOLUTIONARY PLATE with contoured edges with polychrome decoration in the centre of two oval badges bearing the inscriptions union force 17 for one and liberty country 91 for the other. They are surmounted by spades, stick and spades wearing Phrygian cap. Below, drums, cannons, cannonballs and wind instruments. All framed with branches. Flowered headband on the wing. Wears a label of collection PM Sestié and conservatory exhibition Gossec March 1989. Slight galling, removal of enamel on the edge.
